Katy Perry..........................Katy Perry original name Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, (born October 25 1984 Santa Barbara California U.S.) American pop singer who gained fame for a string of anthemic and often sexually suggestive hit songs as well as for a playfully cartoonish sense of style. Perry's attempts at success in mainstream music failed, two separate record labels signing and then dropping her before the release of any music. Capitol Records released Perry's Ur So Gay EP in 2007, and the track garnered only a small amount of attention due to the cheerfully silly title track. "I Didn't Kiss a Girl was a more assertive ode sexism backed with electronic-pop with a sharp edge. It was not a popular song and critics were critical of it for encouraging same-sex relationships and other charged that it depicted a sexually explicit scene that enticed men's fantasies concerning female sexuality. I Kissed a Girl became popular worldwide because of its mix of sensuality and polished melodic tune. The song also contributed to the sales for her album from 2008 of the same name, the album One of the Boys. Hot N Cold, Perry's bright and sharply-tongued debut album, which also had the song that was its second biggest hit proved popular. The album Perry made herself than three million copies.
